What we'll do

  • Prior to rough-in (wiring the home), Aesthetic Electrics will provide the homeowner with a draft electrical layout within the specified inclusions list.
  • Upon review of this document, a member of the Aesthetic Electrics team will walk through the entire house with the homeowner and mark out every point as documented ensuring that the vision on paper is reflected in the build.
  • During this stage materials and electrical inclusions are discussed to ensure a fully functional installation is achieved.
  • We take care of the rest up until completion.

frequently asked questions

This is a point of confusion for many clients we have worked with, as the process has not been clearly defined on previous projects. The process is as follows in the ACT:

  1. The electrician needs to install lead-in conduits to the boundary or electrical pit (site specific conditions)
  2. A 600x600 meter box is to be mounted to the side of the house as defined within the DA/BA documentation provided by the energy supplier
  3. An account is to be established with the metering provider of choice with the customers details
  4. The meter box is to be fit-out to the Evo Energy service rules, and as per AS3000 requirements.
  5. Once the meter box has been appropriately fit-out, a Certificate of Electrical Safety (CoES) form is to be submitted to Access Canberra. Once submitted Access Canberra will have the meter box inspected and signed off ready for Temporary Power.
  6. With the Meter box signed off and stickered by Access Canberra, the job is now available to be released with the metering provider. Once released, the meter will be hung within 15 business days, and power will be connected to the home.
  7.
There are many factors that may be contributing to your high electricity bills, but here are a few culprits that often get overlooked that contribute heavily to electricity bills:
  • Halogen downlights
  • Inefficient air-conditioning units
  • Underfloor heating
  • Older fridges and/or freezers

It is a common misconception that an electrician should be engaged when cables are ready to be run throughout your desired space. Often it is best to be in touch with your electrician during the design phase, as they know where common pitfalls occur in poor planning not just with the electrical package, but with liaising with other trades such as plumbers, joiners, etc. Common issues that arise may be:

  • Incomprehensive wet area design, leading to electrical components in non-compliant wet area zones.
  • Missing outlets for key plumbing infrastructure such as rain water tanks. This may include insufficient outlets for water heaters.
  • Incomprehensive inclusion design often leads to either missing electrical outlets for appliances, or insufficient electrical supply for specific appliances. These may include underfloor heating, ovens, electric cooktops, etc.
